Need to find articles for your journal club? Below are library services and resources to help!
-
Request Tables of Contents of the top journals in your field. If you're not sure what those journals are, we can suggest journals to follow.
-
Set up an alert on a specific topic or set of topics.
-
The library can create expert searches on the topic(s) of your choice, and send the results to your email, daily, weekly, or monthly.
Other resources they can browse or consult??
Tables of Contents Services
Subscribe to electronic tables of contents (eTOC) of your specialty journals (and maybe the journal heavyweights--the purpose of your journal club can help determine what journals you follow). The library can set this service up for you. You'll get an email every time a new issue of the journal(s) you select is published.
Topic Alerts
Topic alerts allow you to build a search, save it, and receive regular updates on the topic. You can search broadly or narrowly depending on your specialty and interest. You determine the search parameters + exactly how often you receive email alerts.
To set up an Alert or Saved Search, the library can help you develop a good search strategy in your favorite medical literature database, save it, and tell it to send you updates as often as you'd like (typically daily, weekly, monthly, or whenever a new article is published on the topic).
