All Inova team members and select affiliates may access library resources via home, office, and personal devices. Team members with an Inova email and password may log in using those credentials or access the library via Citrix. Other affiliated users who do not have an Inova network e-mail but do have privileges with Inova must request access via OpenAthens authenticationYou only need an OpenAthens account if you do not have an Inova username and password.
OpenAthens is the new authentication method for remote access to Inova Health Science Library’s electronic resources (books, journals, and databases) when off site, i.e. not at an Inova workstation. As you access resources from off-site, you will be prompted to log in with your OpenAthens username and password. The prompt looks like this (usually).
Register for OpenAthens access. You do not need to request an OpenAthens account if you have an Inova Email address.
